Released late in 2000, the Pikachu edition is often wrongly thought to be a pack in the console for the new Hey You Pikachu game, it was in fact not sold as a pack with that game. Coming to market at the height of the Pokemon craze, the machine is probably the most drastic remodeling of a console for a special edition, with the whole right side, stretched to fit a Pikachu model on that side, other Pokemon designs are on the console, the power button is now a Pokemon ball and the reset button Pikachu’s foot.
